MOTION GRAPHICS, client: FILMKAMERATENE, title: IZZAT MOTION published: 2005

Izzat is a realistic portrayal of the street-gang culture that started to flourish among children of Pakistani immigrants in Norway’s capital in the 80’s and 90’s. The film depicts the life of three young kids, Wasim, Munawar and Riaz, who grew up in a poor Oslo neighbourhood at that time. School is boring beyond belief. Instead they are fascinated by East Side Crew – a gang led by the ruthless brothers Sadiq and Khalid. What starts with petty thievery soon develops into narcotics, violence and killings. Loyalty within the gang is everything. But that doesn’t mean that each individual is without feelings. Wasim discovers that he is torn in a moral conflict and finally sees that the career he has chosen can have no happy ending for anyone.
